Policy download is the process by which carriers electronically send new-business, renewal, endorsement, cancellation and reinstatement data into an agency\'s management system. Instead of an agent re-keying policy details from a carrier declaration page, the record populates automatically.
Download is delivered through IVANS and uses ACORD data standards so that different carriers can map to the same fields in the AMS.
- Reduces E&O exposure by keeping the agency system in sync with the carrier of record.

- Coverage varies: not every carrier downloads every line, and personal lines are generally better supported than commercial lines.
