Real-Time / Interface

Single sign-on connectivity that lets an agent access carrier functions such as quoting, billing and claims from inside the agency system.

Real-time (also called "interface") refers to on-demand connectivity between the agency management system and a carrier, as opposed to the batch nature of policy download. From within the AMS or rater, an agent can launch directly into a carrier for quoting, billing inquiry, claims status, or endorsement processing without a separate login.

Real-time uses ACORD transaction standards and is coordinated through IVANS and industry connectivity initiatives.

  • Download brings data to the agency automatically (batch).
  • Real-time takes the agent to the carrier on demand (interactive).

Together they reduce swivel-chair work between separate carrier websites and cut errors from manual re-entry.
